Your ROI Doesn’t Have to be Money.

Is your ROI money?

ROI stands for Return-on-Investment, in case you’re confused.

Many people think an ROI deals explicitly with money. For example, many people will not buy ads to promote their website unless they expect to make sales that generate more revenue than the ad cost. That’s what they would call an ROI.

But your ROI doesn’t always have to be about money.

There are many other ROIs out there.

As a blogger, my ROI for blogging is readers, shares, and improvement of my writing ability.

The ROI of my blogging daily is enhancing my ability to do it. I do it for me. I do it to show myself that I can do it. That’s my Return-on-Investment.

But an ROI doesn’t even need to be about money when you spend money, either.

I buy ads on Facebook and Instagram to promote my blogs and social media pages. I don’t expect to make any money from it. My Return-On-Investment is gaining new readers and followers.

If you have the money to spend on advertising without the need to gain it back, your ROI can be something besides getting your money back.

And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Many people, businesses, and brands do that all the time.

Define what the ROI you want is and put in the time to achieve it.
