3 Types of SEO that You Should Be Using

There are three types of SEO.

There is on-page, off-page, and technical search engine optimization (SEO).

No one is better than the other. Each of these types of SEO is important for your website or blog. You should understand each of the three and make using them a habit.

But you might not particularly understand these forms of SEO.

That’s where I come in. And I’m not even charging you a fee for it, either.

In this article, I want to show you how to use the three types of SEO to better your website or blog position on search engines.

Types of SEO: On-Page

The first of the three types of SEO is on-page SEO.

On-Page SEO is everything you do on the page you want to rank on search engines. You typically have complete control over this type of SEO. But while you can control it and do a lot of great things with on-page SEO, you can also harm your search engine ranking if you do things the wrong way.

The first thing you need to do with on-page SEO is understanding and master the art of keyword research. This is where you research the competitiveness of the keywords you wish to target with your content. A keyword will help you rank higher on search engines and get more visitors.

Then you need to understand keyword placement in your content and density. Put your keyword in your title, headers, and images, and spread it throughout your content only when it makes sense to mention.

You also need to make sure your internal linking is spot on. It’s best to create an organizational chart of all your page links and ensure everything is linked together.

Avoid bad on-page SEO as much as you can. One most significant mistake people make is keyword stuffing, meaning they mention the keyword too many times in the content.

3 Types of SEO that You Should Be Using

Types of SEO: Off-Page

Off-Page SEO is the more difficult of the types of SEO that we use today.

It’s because you typically can’t control how your content does outside of your website. But you can still try to ensure that it all goes well. And when you do, most of the time, everything works out.

Off-Page SEO is all about link building. The more links you get, your website or blog will improve. But you want links to websites with content related to yours. It can harm your ranking if it isn’t related, harmful content or spam.

Some of the best ways to build backlinks are to find relatable websites to your own and ask that they link to you. You could always mention their websites and businesses in your articles in return. If you find broken links on their content and your link is a suitable replacement, suggest they replace them with yours.

Another great way to build backlinks is by using social media. If you develop an active community on social media, they’ll share your links everywhere.

You can also build backlinks through podcasting, guest blogging, and review sites.

Good quality backlinks tell Google and other search engines that your content is good enough that other websites love linking to you. It also helps push more people to your website and blog.

Types of SEO: Technical

Technical SEO is another one of the types of SEO you have more control over.

People still often neglect it because they fear technical SEO is too hard.

The truth is that some of it can be difficult, but not all of it. The essential tactics you need to focus on are not difficult at all.

Friendly URLs, for example, should be simple if you’re using a Content Management System or blogging software like WordPress. Then it’s usually just a change in the settings, and the software will do the rest for you.

Site speed is essential for these types of SEO methods. Your website must be fast, and it must be fast all the time. Everyone wants everything fast these days.

You should also be creating for mobile first. Your theme and content should be ideally made for mobile. Everyone is using mobile today.

Technical SEO doesn’t have to be as tricky as it seems.

And those are the three types of SEO you should use on your website or blog. If you read the recommendations above, you should be able to master SEO in less than a month.
